Anyone comment what they paid for this job? I'd love to jump from 3.31 at some point.

3.31 to 4.10 Gears
I contacted a 4x4 shop "Outlaw Off-road" I asked for a quote to install 4.10 gears/ Parts and Labor.$3,200.00 I also asked to provide a price to add Posi-traction to the rear axle, that adds $600.00.
Before I tried to pull my trailer I was considering trading in my 14' trailer and get a 20' enclosed trailer so I can haul my wife's CanAm and my Harley Davidson. Now I'm wondering if I should had bought a F-250 ?? It was about $10,000.00 more. idk yet what I'm going to do. From doing research the 6.2 in the F-250 gets around 10mpg. Opt for the 6.7 and the price goes up another 9k but I'm hearing its possible to get close to 20 mpg empty on the highway with the diesel.

I own a 2017 Ford F150 XLT 5.0, My truck has all terrain 32" tires and the 3.31 gear ratio. I just bought this truck this past December the salesman assured me it would pull my 14' enclosed trailer with a motorcycle - no problem. Yeah right, I took a fairly short trip on the Expressway at 65 mph with the tow switch activated my 6 speed transmission was mainly running 5th and 4th gear, on a big incline it dropped into 3rd gear.

Not sure you are looking at all the variables. Towing a box behind you is a horrible wind drag, especially noticeable at freeway speeds. I’m not that familiar with the 6 speed setup but on the 10 speed the upper 3 gears are increasing overdrives. I know your 6th speed is, maybe your 5th speed is too?
The so-called (by Ford) Heavy Duty Tow package (53A) comes normal with the 3.31, all else is an upgrade $$.

Regearing is a lot cheaper than a new truck. Concur going for great tow gears with the 4.10, any regearing will cost near the same.

I used to do Hot Rods in my younger days. Back then they had the 3rd members. I could do a gear change quick by just swapping out the third member. Boy did it make a difference! I had a stock 1971 Mercury Cyclone that all I did was swap in a set of 4.10 gears. I had a 351 C with a 2 barrel and nothing could touch me on the street. I raced big blocks, Corvettes, etc. I’d be so far in front they would give up before I ran out of RPM.

MPG requirements aren’t near as strict on Super Duty models.
Will gears really get you much gain, though? You can get that ~25% increase in RPMs using a combo of tow-haul mode and locking out some overdrive gears.
Force = Mass x Acceleration
Gears aren’t gaining your truck extra junk in the trunk, so to speak.

Right now my 6 speed transmission is using 3rd and 4th gear mostly to drive on the freeway at 65 mph. The 5.0 is a short stroke engine and torque is in the higher RPM range.
Check out this website, you can plug in your tire size and there is a chart that advises on the ideal gear ratio for towing. https://tiresize.com/gear-ratio-calculator/
I want to take some trips pulling my trailer that would be about 800 miles each way. I recently drove 120 miles with my F150 on the freeway at speeds 60 to 65 mph. I felt like I was overworking the engine and transmission. I wouldn't even attempt a trip like that the way my truck is right now.
