Tires would be C rated. The only E rated tires available from factory are LT245/70R17E.

Next truck, I'm seriously thinking I need to go up north. Your total MSRP with a higher trim and some nice options is about the same as my XLT after I accounted for the exchange rate. Trucks are cheaper in Canada.

Cheaper in Canada? Well It is very surprising. With the US tax on aluminum, canadian dollar weaker than the US one, transport fees....I would not expect that our trucks are cheaper than yours (the contrary would make more sense). By the way, I paid about 7000 under the MSRP on this special order.

In numbers they look like more but run the MSRP + delivery with an exchange rate calculator. Doing that, yours is nearly the same as mine. You have more cool stuff on yours too. I was able to get a $3000 PCO which helped tremendously. At the time there wasn't much from Ford in incentives (seems there never is on HDPP orders).

My present HDPP is a Canadian spec truck reimported back to the US. Please trade your Lariat HDPP trucks often so we can get some imported back!

First camping trip with our 2019 Lariat HDPP with our 6000 lbs trailer and familiy of five. According the weight numbers, an HDPP was definitively required in our application:

Front axle 3420lbs

Rear axle 4120 lbs

Trailer axles 5270 lbs

Hitch weight 815 lbs

Total 12810 lbs

With HDPP, GVWR is 7800 lbs (compare to standard 7050 lbs) and our setup is 7540 lbs. Right in HDPP territory.

How did you manage to get so much weight on the front axle? When i weighed up my HDPP I only put 2950lb on fronts (no passengers) with my 7000lb camper. I had 1000lb hitch weight before bars.

I was slightly nose high on trailer so I’ve since dropped it on the hitch and am still dialing in, but I imagine the truck handles pretty good with all that weight back on the front axle. For comparison, empty I have 3150lb on front axle.
