2018 trailer controller fix
Ford has issued a fix for certain model/option packages that have the power fuse #24 omitted. You will need to enable the factory controller with forscan!.....but What they are doing is , they came up with a harness that attaches to the battery, is fused, then the remaining wire is run to the back of the factory controller in order to power it...as you see in the pictures, the wire is somewhat short so you may need to extend it......you will have to splice it into the blue/red stripe wire at the factory wire plug behind the controller, unless you want to add an aftermarket controller (see photos)....then no forscan is needed, just the power feed......In order to not take a chance on warranty issues, I had the dealer install this while I took numerous photos and pestered the mechanic while looking over his shoulder...but he even said, anyone can install this with some basic knowledge....This kit is $22 and can be order from any Ford dealer....
