2017 F150XL 2.7EB towing
Hope I don't get smacked for asking dumb questions. I have read through tons of threads here about towing. Just want to make sure I'm correct on my thinking.
New truck info in my signature.
1) Is it correct the 2017's with the 2.7EB come standard with a Auxiliary transmission oil cooler?
2) With just the Class IV hitch option, I have the 53B option (pic below)?
3) From the chart in the towing guide below the "Maximum Loaded Trailer Weight" for my truck is 7600# - but I shouldn't exceed 5000# without a weight distributing hitch (posted in various threads). Yes?
https://www.ford.com/resources/ford/..._F150_Sep7.pdf
4) What does the footnote "Do not exceed trailer weight of 5,100 lbs. when towing with bumper only" mean? I have the Class IV hitch, not a bumper hitch so this doesn't concern me right?
Thanks for everyone's help. Just want to be safe.

#4 ...doesn't concern you. It's saying the bumper can't support the heavier load, your hitch is attached to the frame and can handle it.
You can look and see if you have a trans cooler. It would be in front of the radiator and AC condenser and you should be able to follow the 2 metal lines back to the trans.

ShelbyJoe. First there's never ever a dumb question when trying to learn from others Based upon what your trying to learn, class IV hitch has it's limits, hence 5000# weight limit for a fully loaded trailer. yours and mine, has a limited total loaded trailer of 7600#. so, unless your happy with a small trailer in the 19-20 ft range for that hitch, well go for it. Just don't ever, ever overload you GCWR. by the way I assume your have the trailer tow pkg (53a), yes u do have a trans cooler.
