You were recording that, travelling at 60mph on a busy highway, towing a trailer...?

Ah, sorry. Shouldn't have assumed.

Looks like that 2.7 has some grunt.

Not bad, I just pulled a 2 mile 6% this week, only had about 7500 with the GN loaded with Hay for a Trainer. My 5.0 was running 3 to 3500 up hill and was accelerating so I had to back off for slower traffic. The 2.7 does seem to pull well but did still downshift a bit seems very comparable to a 5.0 in how it pulls. My truck only has 3.55s so my speed was a bit higher at similar rpms.

What kind of altitude was this at? Thats where the EB's really make a difference.

Any sort of tune or is this a stock truck?

Everything I have seen suggests that the 2.7 is pretty close to the same power as the 3.5, maybe just a little bit later in the RPM's on torque. I think at this % grade pretty much any engine short of a full size diesel with like 800 ft lbs fo torque at 2000 rpm(IE not the EcoDiesel) is going to have to downshft to make the the horsepower it needs to drag that trailer through the air and up the hill.

OP, I can't tell from the video, but do you have a boost gauge and can you give an idea of what the typical boost level was?

I have an XLT, so no boost gauge. I added an Ultra Gauge blue and have boost showing on an extra Android phone. Makes it nice, I also display MPG on the same screen and can definitely see the connection of how much air is being pushed and MPG.

It's at probably 1000 feet or less. It's on Orange County CA. At the top it may be closer to 1500 feet. No time. It's 100% stock.
