What he is getting at is your trucks payload includes the tongue weight when towing. Your trucks payload is how much weight you can carry in the truck at one time. So lets just say for example if your trucks payload it rated at 1500 pounds and the loaded trailer tongue weight is 500 pounds that leaves you 1000 pounds of payload left in the truck for passengers, gear ect.

In short, the 7400lb GVWR is the total amount (truck, and everything sitting on it) can weigh.

4800 lb trailer can be towed with no problem. The tongue weight is how much weight is being put on the hitch.

7400 and 4800 is 12,000 lbs. with no people, food, gas, video games, toilet paper, etc.

What's the GCVWR? ( C for combined)?

Hey Juls, Just like the others have said, you should have no problems pulling that trailer. I just want to add that when your towing to make sure you lockout overdrive so your transmission isn't constantly shifting in and out building up excessive heat.

You all are awesome. I love my F150 and I do not want to hurt her in any way. She has gotten me out of a lot of situations so I owe her the respect

Any advice anyone can give me on towing up hill to ease my truck would be helpfull.

06 is a four speed, yes? Somebody else will be more qualified as I have no experience with a 5.4l or a 4 speed. But... avoid bogging the engine, keep it in lower gears if possible. Better to have it scream a little than struggle.
Are you talking about highway speeds or crawling about off road?
