Default 2.7L Payload Package

Hey guys. Got another question.
How much payload does the payload package add?!

For example, my current truck is a 2018 2.7L ecoboost 4x4 SCrew with a payload of 1381lbs. If my truck had the payload package, what sort of increase should I expect? Ball park.

I believe it bumps the GVWR up to 7K or 7050, however, it's not a loaded truck, meaning less than an XLT w/302A pkg.

Nah, it bumps the GVWR up to 6900 from 6600. And you can get it in higher trims like a lariat, at least here in Canada anyway.

I'm wondering how much extra payload it equates to.

Look at the GVWR of your current truck and the GVWR of the 2.7PP in the truck you want. It is generally between 300-550 lb additional but you lose some of that with things like the change from 8.8" to 9.75" rear axle and possibly a slightly heavier frame. If I remember correctly an '18 Screw 4x4 2.7PP had a 6900 GVWR.

I chose to go with a 3.5EB 53B vs a 2.7PP 53A in '18 because I got about 100 lb more payload and the price was essentially the same on a 2018. My max trailer weight is under 7,000 lb so 53B was sufficient.

Yeah, gotta agree. I was very dead set on the 2.7L with PP. Definetly looking to get a 3.5L now.

GVWR range from 6800-7050 depending on model.
Payload gains range from 240-560 lb depending on model. But those will vary slightly per year.
