13/14 vs 2016

My 2012 was the same truck configuration right down to the 3.73 gears and 36 gallon gas tank. The 2012 weighed 660 lbs more which is HUGE. The 2012 had 308 lbs less payload as well. I can't see a 2016 weighing more than a 2011 - 2014 model unless it's a situation as I stated above.

I didn't want the chrome package on the 2016. It corroded on the steps and peeled on the wheels. I think they changed the chrome for the 2014 wheels.
Since you have the off road package, you may want to get rid of those soft bouncy Off Road Shocks since you'll need stiffer shocks for towing. Ford and GM shouldn't even include their off road shocks on trucks optioned with the tow package but they do.

What was your 2014, a Regular Cab XL 2WD and your 2016 a Crew Cab Platinum 4WD?

If you must know, I was going over the miles on my lease and swapped out before t was over. And rather than going into another new one I picked up a used 2014 so that I don’t have to worry about miles AND possibly have an easier time towing to the track. Better?

I don't know much about leases other than they're normally a bad idea with most going over their miles, BUT don't you have the option to buy it so you don't lose your *** on the mileage charges?
You actually did a very smart thing, buying the 2014 used, which would likely depreciate much quicker due to the next model year being a complete redesign. Also you got all the latest fixes on the the truck. It's likely the best year of that generation. Did that truck have the higher GVWR of 7650 lbs and the Max Tow package or did someone just add the Tow Mirrors separately (like I did to my 2010 F150)?
