Question 07 ford fx4 screw towing

Hey just wondering about towing my 23 fleet wood camper it is a terry lite comes in around 4900 lbs. my truck tows it fine but I just wonder if it is a little heavy for me don't have the owners manual to tell towing the coolant temp is around 214 degrees the trans temp is around 207 degrees. I heave the edge programmer set to level two the towing setting and a K&N fipk on the truck.

Is that loaded weight or dry weight? Really your limiting factor should be payload. 4900lbs seems like a good match for a 1/2 ton. I'd say you're fine. If you are concerned about engine temp, look at getting a thermostat that opens at a little bit cooler temp and maybe add some water wetter.

As for your tranny, put in some new fluid, change the filter and keep it in tow/haul mode and you should be fine.

That sounds like a good match to me. Are you lifted or running bigger tires? Thats pretty hard on your tranny. Especially so if you have the 3.55 gears.

That sounds like a high transmission temp. My 05 5.4 ran 150-170 towing. My 2011 runs in the 190s towing or unloaded.
