Default towing capacity(fifth wheel versus TT)
Why is the towing capacity for my 2016 F150 11,500 for a TT but only 9,800 for a fifth wheel? Thanks, Doug

Because a fifth wheel put's more weight into the truck...pin or hitch weight plus the weight of the fifth wheel and occupant's add up quickly. Easy to go over the max weight the truck can carry with a 5th wheel trailer.

Might want to post in the Towing section of the forum. Payload will limit you to even less of a trailer.
