After a little prod from members and working with the "techies", we've implemented a new feature within the classified section.

Now when you create a new thread, you'll have to select a prefix for the region that you are located in addition to the "WTT/WTB" tags. This eventually will allow you (the user) to search for classified ads from within your specific area of the country.

These sections are broken down into the same geographical areas as the current regional section.

Once the sorter is up and running, I'll update this thread.

 

Ok, the classified section is finished. Now not only do you HAVE to enter a geographical location for your ad as a prefix, but also there's a drop down menu at the top of the classified section that allows you to search the classifieds by specific regions.

Sorry. this isn't retroactive and can't be applied to old/existing ads so the search menu won't filter those as intended.

Please let me know if there are any concerns or hiccups. I've played with this system a little bit before it went live and it seems to be bug free.... But we're talking about technology here.

Are there any other options for new members to participate in the classifieds other than wait 60 days? I try to post when appropriate, but don't want to muck up threads just to get my post count up. It seems like there is a lot of activity there.

Sorry, we have had numerous run-in's with scammers so this is the only way that I can truly offer any level of protection to my members, above their own "gut feeling". My I recommend the "say something about the person above you" thread? The post counts from people in that thread alone are astounding... And you're currently at 17 posts so you don't have long.
