Hello, new to the forum, iv been looking for build threads(not too hard) of anyone building a replica f150 lightning and didnt find any so why not give it a shot myself!
The reason im doing this is because i have a mobile auto detail buisness and iv been working off the back of an astro and decided that its not very impresive or fun so i decided to save up and buy muself a single cab f150 and work off my truck. But why no take it to the next level and make it a lightning! A replica of coarse because i wouldnt want an original to drive around every day and put thousands of miles into it seems kind of pointless to me so ill do the next best thing.
So im starting with a 1999 ford f150 bought it off a company the truck is beat up and needs a-lot of work! Im 23 and not very experienced in this but a mans passion for cars/trucks will make him do (at least try) incredible things just to satisfy his need of a beautiful custom vehicle! And the satisfaction behind building something so amazingly awsome is also a good thing! Anyway, this is my attempt to start washing/detailing vehicles and slowly working my way into building custom cars. This is going to be a slow build since im funding it myself and work as a server/rent/bills and all that good stuff! Heres what i started with low cost f150 work truck!

Cant wait to see what becomes of your new work truck
Thanks! Iv been working on it whenever i can save a few dollars, this is basically a very low budget build, ill be testing my skills on finding good deals on parts or negotiating and bringing them down to whatever price i think is fair.. At least for me!
Im planing on keeping the stock 4.6 maybe installing a bigger cam if the budget gets better down the road i already got a k&n air filter that i found at the junk yard..
i wasnt sure where to start and i needed motivation so i decided to start in the interior,
cleaned it and made it look stock. Umm no i didnt i didnt want stock so i completely disasembled it washed piece by piece spent 2 days scrubbing away and..
I want to see seat pics ASAP! I love a good custom interior.
While I'm thinking it's going to be a lot of red with the seats and dash being red, I'm super pumped to see this all together.
I agree it is going to be alot of red but its almost not going to be noticeable from outside because of the tinted windows, see everyone gives me a hard time because of my color choices when i build cars, for example i have a grabber blue 71 pontiac firebird with red black and red interior.
And i hot alot of crap when i decided to lower my harley too i worked my buns off all summer last year to finaly buy my dream truck and every time i mod it they dislike it! But its mine and im happy with it so its too bad they dont share my love for lowered vehicles haha. My dad is oldschool and likes everything original but i like different!
Well i worked on the truck last night till about 3am and eventhough i havent finished the seats(my mom and i are upholstering them and weve never tried before) i got some progress putting back the interior and tried my harley wheels on it and its waaayyyy too high!
I should also add that i found a guy that was trying to buy my tailgate(regular bed) and i told him ill trade you my tailgate for your whole bed(stepside) and he said yes! Apperently hes a gardener and has gone through w few beds because of the stuff he hauls around and wanted to have an extra sitting around so that works with me! I did have to add a few bucks to sweeten the deal so im back to saving for the drop kit, and i have to go to court for traffic tickets and i know theyre gona want a chunk of money so that will slow the build down a bit.
