Had a little free time today so the OEM shackles and 4x4 1.25" blocks are in. Took exactly 2 hours start to finish. Driver side rake is exaggerated due to driveway slope. Passenger side is more true to form. Hope to get the Motofab 2.5" level on tomorrow and then alignment and tires Thursday or Friday after work. Side note, amazing what sun vs shade does to lightning blue. Pics are 10 seconds apart.

Learned today after washing my truck that I have the 9.75" 12 bolt rear end housing my 3.55 gears with e-locker. Not sure what that really even means, lol.
It means you have a larger center section in the rear axle housing, a larger ring gear (for the same ratio in an 8.8 Super rear axle) and the ability to support more weight on the rear axle than the lighter 8.8 Super axle.
What I want to know is, was the E-Locker available at all? in the 8.8 Super (the axle in my Coyote Supercrew truck).
Now for more interesting news. I want my truck to look more like a truck, sooooooo, I just bought a Rough Country 2" level kit and my son is bringing me his OEM blocks and u-bolts from his 13. I will get those cleaned up and painted before install. Hope I don't need them, but I have to take out my Ford Performance lowering shackles anyway to install the OEM shackles. Now to decide on tires.....99% set on 275/60/20 Falken Wildpeak AT3.
Summers! I've been AWOL. Also, Hello! John Day. The reason for my absence has been work, and a Marlin 1894 lever carbine in .44 Magnum (it's in the Guns thread).
Great minds think alike, and while I wasn't necessarily thinking of a lift per se, I have been obsessed lately with a certain set of wheels and tires. Common sense tells me that my truck is fine with the A/Ts that are on it, but I really really really! want a set of Firestone's newest M/T, their Destination M/T2. The wheel I want is in the photo. Good grief. Increased road noise, less comfort, 35 lbs heavier wheel-and-tire assembly on all four corners... what's not to like? Superb off road traction, great looks, you know, for my Concrete Cowboy buckboard.
But, dagnabbit! That's the direction I'd like to take my mild-mannered XLT. I'm gonna sleep on it for another few days.

IIRC ELD was offered on the S8.8, but you usually couldn't get the 3.73 ELD on it, as that defaults to 9.75. 3.55 seems to be a tossup and can be either or. The problem with S8.8 is that a lot of the covers out there (and gears, I would think) are designed for the traditional, round 8.8 found in older trucks and Mustangs for example. The S8.8 has the same number of bolts as the 9.75.
Also, welcome back, haven't seen you around in a while.

Hey welcome back Apples!!
Hey Jon, looks like you're driving down hill, gotta keep the belt fastened so you don't slide out of the seat.
