Were you planning a 4" lift? If not, the hydraulic spreader method would have you just fine and would be a lot cheaper.

Yeah I wanted more height from a true suspension lift, 4" was perfect for me.

Thanks for the tip though, never herd of that nor do I know what that is, ha.

Gotcha.

Basically it's a jack connected to a bar. When you jack the handle it spreads the bars out.

Very clever. Wonder if it compromises the structural integrity of the steel bars, they're meant as added protection in frontal crashes so I would think this might weaken them slightly. It's a great alternative to cutting them off which I've seen people do which would make me nervous to do.

Thanks for sharing! I coud've used this method the other day when I was rubbing.

It definitely stresses them some, and changes the angle they are at very slightly. It might move them 1", but realistically it's probably 1/4-1/2" of a change. I'd say it probably does weaken them a little, but the amount it does would be negligible since nothing was drastically changed. They spring back a decent amount when you're bending them, so the biggest thing it could do is stress them a little more than they are now. I'm personally not worried about it, plus it's way better than hacking them out... Still not sure how people don't think twice about that.

No prob! Lol

They're super annoying, but they're sure helpful in a crash. I couldn't justify removing them to fit tires. But thanks man! I love the look, although I wish I could tuck 35's with this setup.

No sweat, just busting. Although my photos sucked and actually didn't look good so I can see the confusion. Once the lift, grill, Borla and American Forces go on it'll look a lot better. The winter set up is rather boring.
