Friend of mine took some professional photos tonight, but until I get the real ones here are a couple iPhone photos I took.

Damn fine photos, but it helps to have a great subject!

Side note, how is the highway noise with the Toyos?

Are did you end up just having the truxedo tonneau sent back for replacement? Or did you go with another cover? If so, which one? I read through and may have missed this info. Truck looks amazing though! it's the subtle details that really pull a build together!

Thanks for the kind words. Highway noise not bad, slight hum. Better than mud tires, but they ride real smooth.

Thanks.

I had two tuxedos sitting in my garage at one point waiting to be returned. I went with the LoMax hard tri-fold cover. It's so thin it's ridiculous. It's easy to open up and remove. Another great thing is I can open the bed without opening the cover.

With the Truxedo hard roll up you have to unlatch the velcro on both sides and flip it up a few inches, then roll it closed again and press down on the velcro.

My buddy has the truxedo cover and this weekend I could see how much more of a production it is to get into the bed versus mine as we both accessed our beds several time while at a truck show.

The fit and finish on both tuxedo's was terrible, both covers I got had issues.

It’s time to revive this thread with some interior and engine bay mods I have planned.

I’ve decided to add real carbon fiber, B&I molded black wood, hydrodipped aluminum accents and some painted parts to the interior and engine bay. I wanted a mix of sporty finishes (carbon fiber, brushed aluminum) with a luxurious finish (black wood grain), as I think it looks best when there is more then one finish, texture or color.

The carbon fiber parts will be both prefabbed CalPony parts as well as some custom carbon fiber skinned pieces I just sent out to match the CalPony 3k twill weave CF pieces.

First step was to have some interior pieces painted to match the real Carbon Fiber overlays in a warm dark charcoal. The rear console charging panel was painted to get rid of any last bit of OEM silver in the interior. Even though you won’t see the color matched door handle covers I had them painted to hide any of the OEM silver once the CF overlays were on. I saved where I could by going with CF overlays versus replacement or custom skinned CF parts.

Doing the same thing with the mirror caps, which are CF overlays that look just like the handle pulls, they are perfect, the weave is dead straight. I ordered replacement black mirror caps and will have them painted in the warm charcoal because I noticed a tiny sliver of white from my paint matched mirror caps might show on the bottom edge when they are in place. I will remove the white caps carefully and hopefully not break any tabs. I saved where I could by going with overlays versus replacement caps but didn’t anticipate any of the white showing or I might’ve bought the replacement CF caps. I wanted to carry some of the carbon fiber to the outside of the truck so I sent out various parts to be skinned including the center bumper trim, bumper top step trim, fog lamp housings and a few interior pieces as well including the lower part of the rear charging panel.

Hopefully the B&I black wood molded trim kit will ship soon, it’s already been 6 weeks as they are made to order.

I’m having the Mishimoto coolant tank either hydrodipped or powdercoated, the AFE air intake I got will be hydrodipped along with other parts under the hood. The new engine cover will remain painted Oxford White like the previous one I had but I just ordered some custom badges that I designed that say 3.5L Twin Turbo that will fit into the recessed areas that currently have the molded ECOBOOST lettering. I’m adding an aluminum ford oval badge that will fit over the molded Ford logo.

Most everything is still in production, here are a few teaser pics.
