May I ask why? We've had four of them in the family over recent years. All lived to high mileage, never threw any CELs, and greatly held onto their value.

Our local dealer also offers a lifetime powertrain warranty. So it's pretty tempting.
Only considering the TRD sport, manual, and as few electronic options as possible.

its not really the electronics that are the issues, it’s the powertrain. Just go over to tacomaworld and see how many complaints daily there are. I had a TRD OR (auto) and the power is just absolutely abysmal. The Atkinson’s cycle is horrid for towing, and even with the manual, it’s not a towing engine in the slightest. I had several problems with mine, including various updates from Toyota to try and fix the transmission shifting and the engine hesitating. None in which worked. The 3rd gens are proving to be far less of a truck than the 2nd gens when it comes to reliability and resale value, as the 3rd gen isn’t doing well in the resale department. I’ve also learned there is nothing worse than a Toyota dealership.
