My short list;
  • Get some mud flaps on it, hopefully this weekend. I had to knock off a ton on ice and snow that was growing between the running boards and the door bottoms yesterday. When it gets real heavy you can hear it scraping on the doors as you open and close them. Mud flaps should deflect at least some of it.
  • Replace the headlights and turn/marker lights out front. I have Phillips Crystal Vision bulbs for High, Low, Fogs, as well as Sylvania Zevos for the small bulbs. This will require some slightly warmer temps before I want to completely disassemble the front end.
  • Add insect screening between the grille and the active shutters to help keep the hard bugs from damaging the cooling fins on the condenser, radiator trans cooler and turbo cooler. I should do this when the headlights go in depending on temperatures. No real rush on this yet as the only insects we have flying now are snow flies.
  • Debating on a set of rear wheel well liners.
  • Debating on OEM fender flares to match the Magnetic two tone.
  • Install Hellwig Sway bar once it warms up some.

I forgot that I have to work an event all weekend...….that means nothing will get done on the truck this weekend.

Default Snow

After a what turned into a long snow filled weekend, I finally made it home. The roads usually had one lane drifted shut and the small drifts in the other lane felt like parking curbs they were so hard.
Fortunately my son had got out the tractor and cut a lane through this drift so that I could make it to the house.

Thanks Andrew!
Ended up two nights in a hotel because of Blizzard warnings this weekend, but it is good to be home again.

Funny thing is we didn't get that much new snow, but we did get 40 mph winds. So all the snow that wasn't already hard and crusty blows into drifts.

Tonight I finally got the time to modify my back seat release so that it can be tipped forward on demand. On the last truck I just drilled the pin and added a ring and a cord to pull as I've seen on here several times.
This time I used the method I saw in Johnny_bravo00's build thread. I think it works better/ smoother than the last one I did.
Sorry, no pictures yet. it's cold out there.

I stayed outside long enough to swap out my regular cargo light bulbs for Zevo LED's. Now all rear facing bulbs are switched over to Zevo LED's. What an improvement that makes! Much cleaner whiter lights.
Now if it would just warm up enough to take the front end apart and swap out all those bulbs and headlights.

The tape wasn't working effectively? or you wanted it installed factory style?

Thanks for the help!
Reminded me that I did this to mine, I started out with just tape as I didn't like the idea of drilling a new truck. It might be possible to do a good job without drilling and using clips but I found that it was required, It doesn't seem like there's enough surface area on the flare to go tape only and have good fit throughout the wheel arch.

Thanks for the insight pdxF150
I haven't decided if I want to add the flares or not... yet.
