After seeing all that junk caught in my grille screening I thought I better take a look at the K&N engine air filter. Sure enough it had a spring collection of what ever is blowing in the wind. So I walked it over to the garden hose and gave it a flush out, and let it stand outside until dry. Today I gave it a shot of filter oil and it is back in place, good to go again.

The cotton wood is HORRIBLE this year. I've had to take the air conditioner at home apart twice and clean it out because we are getting so much of it. It literally looks like it's snowing sometimes.

I have seen that also.
Sometime I see a cloud almost hovering over the road and it spreads all over the truck as you drive through it. I just know that it is getting sucked in everywhere. That is why I went through the effort to add a screen behind the grill, ahead of the shutters, I want to be able to flush all that crud off the screen and not have it stuck in the cooling fins of the radiator and condenser.
I had the front of my 2015 apart once and was amazed at how many bugs and grasshoppers had their heads stuck in the cooling fins, bending and denting the fins. At that point I decided to add the screen. When I was a kid I remember seeing vehicles with screens in front of their grilles. That wasn't a very attractive look so I tried to hide the screen a little.
At this point I'm pretty content with it.

Went out the other evening and gave the truck a hand wash then applied the Hybrid ceramic wax to the rest of it. Even at 8-9pm it was hot out there.

The next morning I went out to load my gear into it just to find that a cat was nice enough to visit it in the night. The hood, roof, and tonneau were all covered in cat prints. I was less than impressed. I grabbed my still damp microfiber and gave it a quick wipe down to get rid of the evidence and make the truck look presentable again.

The temps finally dropped a little here this morning. I rewashed the hood then nosed it into the shop. Once I got all the stuff together I applied the clear paint protection film across the front of the hood.
I bought this stuff months ago and just haven’t gotten it done yet. I used some blue painters tape to help me to gauge the spacing and insure that it was relatively straight when completed. I should have re-watched the you tube videos so that it was fresh in my head, but I didn’t, I just plowed ahead.
Once or twice in the middle of this project I was certain it would turn out like crap and I would have to reorder more and start over. I hung in there and it finished up better than I thought it would when I was half way in to it. Overall I am very content with it. If I had to do it over I would buy wider film. I got 6” wide and 8” would give better coverage.

It ended up smooth and flat and very clear. Even harder to see than I thought it would be.

I had had some carbon fiber vinyl wrap from another project so I wrapped the door insert. It came out ok so now I need to do the other three doors.

Quick update on the clear paint protection film.
Still stuck on, and nice and flat. Even the two corners of the hood where it wraps around to the underside stayed stuck and looks nice. I am very pleased.

I still haven't gotten the rest of the door inserts wrapped in the carbon fiber yet although I look at it everyday and think about it. To many nights away from home to get anything done I guess.

Thanks,
I'm trying to use up the good rubber on the chrome ones. I know that the chrome ones don't sell very well, so I may as well get the miles off the rubber during the summer.

I have been looking for a second set of sport wheels for summer use once the current ones go bald.
