Tunes
Got a tuner from Stage3Motorsports a while back. Tuning is new to me, so I guess I didn't really know what to expect - it's definitely been a learning experience
Initially, put on the 93 octane tow/perf tune from 5star, and had a lot of problems with it, but I think that was because I tried to immediately go out and see what it could do after applying it. Had issues with really hard shifts, the safeties or something kicked in and completely turned off the turbos, etc (and all I can say is the 3.5 without turbos is a dog ). So I got cold feet and reverted to stock for a while. Had 5star do some tweaks, and tried again. Was still concerned because with the tune, once it warmed up, the engine fans ran full speed constantly. Was loud enough that my wife was asking what was wrong with the truck, and standing beside it running, was hard to hear someone talking.
Anyway, been back and forth between the different tunes and stock, and surprisingly, went back to the original 93 octane tow/perf tune, left it on for a couple days driving it normal-easy, and it seems to have "settled in" - no more of the hard shifts or turbo problems, etc. I guess the auto learning adjustments the computer does needed to sort of sync up with the tune or something - and I really like the tune now. It still sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel with the fans running, but seems that's normal, though it seems to have settled down a bit (maybe the weather is colder causing it to be needed less, or maybe I'm getting used to it - I dunno). Still hoping to find better ways to keep the engine cool without the constant fans on high, but I do like the extra umph the tune gives it.

Although i I am totally happy with my tunes, I do plan to try the omega tune by Oz tuning in the near future as I have heard multiple good reviews about them. Good luck

Bill give the guys over at MPT a call. I’ve had their tunes on both of my last 2 trucks and have not had a single hiccup. First truck was 14 3.5EB and current truck is a 17 5.0. Ran 93oct performance/extreme tunes on both and love them. If you already have the hand held unit I think they will create and email you a tune for $100-150.

It's not that I am unhappy with the 5star, so much as I just wasn't expecting things like this. In hindsight, it makes sense if you are running at higher performance, you'll get more heat and have to do something about it.

With the MPT Tune, do the fan's still run full blast all the time? If not, what engine oil temp do you see when warmed up?

New Wheels
Picked up a set of Raptor "beadlock" wheels, taken off a new Raptor before it was sold. The C rated BFG KO2's give a noticeably softer ride than the E rated Yokohamas, and surprisingly were quieter that the Yokos that are more of a street tire. They also seem to handle better, though that could be that I didn't need the spacers for the BFGs, or could be entirely in my head

Just bought a Helwig rear sway bar and the Full Race intercooler upgrade.
Helwig is installed, and at first I didn't think I could tell the difference, until I realized on windy roads, that I was driving a lot faster without noticing.
Intercooler hasn't arrived yet, but may be a while before I can install it anyway - my main goal is to free up room in the bumper for a hidden winch. Rough country came out with a hidden winch mount for the 2015+'s that looks promising.

Update
Did a few new mods over the Christmas holiday:
- Installed the Full Race Freak-o-boost intercooler upgrade to prep for a hidden winch (forgot to take pics, and I had it black powdercoated by FR, so it's pretty much invisible unless you look close. They originally sent me the wrong pipe that the BOV connects to and it still blocked the winch, but a quick call and they sent out the right pipe.
- Installed a Putco tailgate light bar. Initially had clearance issues due to the little guide bracket for the tailgate, but added a small plastic spacer on that side and all's good now.
- Installed a hidden winch in the front bumper (Smittybilt X20 12k and Rough Country hidden winch mount plate). The Rough Country mount plate comes with an extension cable to run from the winch control box to the front of the bumper, but it's wired for a Warn winch, and the Smittybilt is different (Warn has 3 pins, Smitty 5). But the Smittybilt winch controller works wirelessly also, so no problem there, and if the controller battery dies, I can still get to the control box underneath to plug it in as a backup.
- Just before Christmas, was driving down the road and a deer T-boned me, denting both driver side doors and the truck bed, so had to take it in for repairs. I had previously dented and scratched up my stock bumper by stupidly not hooking up a trailer right, so had been eyeing a rough country bumper that has the one thing I like about the Chevy's - the built in bumper steps - as a replacement. So I went ahead and got that, and while it was in the body shop, had them paint it to match:
My next project is to install the F250 upfitter switches using BoostedGreyGooses wiring harness to control the lights in the rear bumper and another identical set of lights that I'll install to either side of the winch fairlead up front (which will also cover the hole for the winch cable extension I can't use). Once I install that, I'll move the winch to a switch also (concern is if it's not on a switch, and the wireless controller is bumped wrong in storage, it may come on and do bad things).

Just read through this entire thread. This is a really great, well thought out, quality build. I love all the color matching and the Raptor wheels and tires really set if off.
