Good news, bad news. Bad news first, I didn't get a full refund (I got back $175 of the $279, so...) -- Good news next, I kept the letters and was actually able to repair the grille with some JB Weld and patience.
Figured since I put JB Weld on it, I should sand it and repaint it. I went for a subtle two tone, black and magnetic grey. This is the first pass with trim and bumper paint.
Close up of the repaired section. There's a tiny bit of JB weld I didn't want to sand down to bare plastic, so I smoothed it out as best I could.
Second and third pass with spray in bed liner. Removed the paper and tape and voila, two-tone.

Also don't wait too long... these things are becoming rare, especially with the lettering that actually fits. (Unless, of course, you make your own like that one cat did in the forum).

Yeah I know but if I could just win the lottery so I could have the funds it would happen a lot faster!
