How thick is the add-a-leaf Morris. It’s always been my practice to replace “U” bolts as opposed to reusing them because they are torque to yield. It’s kind of cheap insurance. If you replace them, it wouldn’t hurt to go longer. If you don’t replace, make sure you still have thread showing beyond the nut after you torque them down!

I second what Mike said. They're torque to yield so I'd replace them, and with it being close on working or not, I would go ahead and get them a little longer.
