Did a mini-project today before the holidays this week...removed my plasti-dipped hood section (very tedious! took longer than expected with WD-40) and added some nicer, cleaner Raptor-style hood stripes that I purchased from eBay from the same seller that sold me the Roush-like fender decals. Here are some step-by-step photos:

WELLLLL....I spoke too soon on those nicer looking vinyl hood stripes. There must've been a reason they were only $28.00. I was driving down the road yesterday going 75 mph and suddenly one side shot off!! GEEZ. Needless to say I was pissed.
So being a tad bit crafty (and crazy) I used the outler vinyl ring (that somehow was still on the truck which the larger "inner" section was what was blown away) as a template to paint on the stripes. So far they look good but of course the texture is not uniform like the vinyl was and is more noticeable when it is cloudy vs. sunny. I was obviously pretty mad that the vinyl just pulled up and shot away but man I installed it by the book (the same as my side fender vinyl), using hair dryer to make sure the vinyl "stuck" and had all the bubbles worked out, etc etc. Not sure what happened but I think it is because the lower temps outside didn't allow the vinyl to adhere properly to the hood and once the wind got a tiny bit of the vinyl up - it was over.
Here are some pics of where we are as of 15 minutes ago (painted not vinyl anymore). Not ideal but I figured, WTH:
