Default Holeshot's project

hey guys! I bought last fall a '17 XLT with XTR package, 3.5 EB/10 spd. I have a few little project for it. Basicaly I'm a jeep guy. Been offroading a lot in the last 10 years. I had two different JK's, on 37's with a lot of modifications, all done by myself as I was a tech in a chrysler dealer before. And before that I was working in a ford dealer.

So, offroad is in my blood, and I will end up buying another jeep when my daugter gets older, (she's only 16 months old now) but in the meantime, I put some time on the truck. I obviously won't do anything crazy with it, like I did with the jeeps, but I want it to be capable offroad to a minimum.

So it is a XTR package, 18'' wheels, E-locker rear diff, 3.55 ratio, side steps.

I plan on putting a leveling kit, 1.5 or 2.5 depending on what's needed to fit 295/70R18 tires. I have an eye on the cooper STT pro's, which will probably be my choice for the next jeep also. I want to add a light bar mount in the front, back rack with lights, back up light/cargo lights, and a CB, and maybe a few protection skid plates because it has none, and I know myself.. lol I will end up going where I should not with a stock truck.

I have started a topic for the backrack, because I kinda been screwed with the tonneau cover they sold me with the truck. I wanted the roll up cover, which I remembered to be installed inside the bed rails, back in the days I was working there, but it seems that now they are over the bed rails, just like the 3 piece folding covers, and unfortunately, no backrack exists to fit these. So I came out with an idea, and I will build myself a backrack to make it fit.

The only things I've done so far is to remove the front air dam, and line-x'ed the bed. Next is leveling and tires, so if you have any kits to suggest, pictures of your similar setup, please share!

Here's a pic of the backrack project

And a pic of my truck when new

Some say ''pic or it never happened'', so here's a few shots of my jeeps

the white one is a 2016 JK unlimited, and the red one is a 2012 JK 2 door. I swapped everything from the '12 to the '16 with the help of a few friends.

Nice truck, nice jeeps! Looking forward to see what happens here... where are you located? I know a guy who can make that back rack happen quick for real cheap too!

Im in Quebec province, probably too far lol. I asked a friend who owns a fab shop, he quoted the rack made of aluminum, at 750 CAD. As I don’t do alu welding he would have to put it together, So I asked a quote for only the parts cutting out of steel, so I can do it myself. Still waiting for the answer.
