The Maxx would probably do better for you in the sand.

These are 275/60R20 Toyo AT2s. 33" tire that look good on a leveled truck like mine. You'd probably be looking for a 35" tire or so. These ride great on the highway. Don't notice any difference from the stock Pirellis with road noise. Had them on with Fox 2.0s front and rear for 2 days with no complaints so far.

So right now I think it's between the the Toyo AT2's and the Cooper STMaxx's

Coopers I would probably chose their 34.6 x 12.5 They make a 275/65/20 that looks ok, but I'm not sure about a stock width 34" tire, I'm thinking that's gonna look a bit too skinny...

Toyo I'm still stuck on whether to go 295/60/20 (33.9 x 11.8) or 295/65/20 (35.1x11.8) but I do think I will end up going for the Toyo's.

Those two tires actually look VERY similar, lol.
After seeing the pics, I'd personally compare warranties (the fine print such as pro-rating and such), treadlife, user reviews, then compare price. Just my $0.02

So far it looks like Cooper would be cheaper, but Toyo have a really high mileage warranty and are very well reviewed. Research time!!!

I'd tuck the 35s if I could. I agree stock width 34" is too skinny. May want to check with someone who has the same suspension setup as yours and see if they have any problems with 35s. I wouldn't want to trim any body work, but some guys don't mind it. I think the Toyos are your best bet in the Extreme tread pattern. They'll look nice and aggressive.

How do you know if they are the "Extreme" tread?

35's should be fine, the tire is not that wide which is usually the issue.
