As stated ^^^, the sub will handle the bass while good door speakers will handle the mids and highs for the "full spectrum" sound. It doesn't have to be ear-shattering. Get a 10" sub, complimenting amp, and good door speakers. You'll appreciate it, trust me.

I will put my .02 in, get the amp power steps first. They are much, much more useful than the oem steps, and are so trick when they come out from under the truck!
Any suggestion on speaker choices?

LOL I took off my running boards a while back and almost did that the first day.

Yeah I don't want volume, just quality. Any suggestions for AMP, Sub, and Door speakers?

The pioneers I got I would recommend. They sound really nice, you'd probably get better quality out of them than I do since you have newer better audio in your truck. But it sounds crisp and clear to me and I think they were 100% worth buying.

Depends on your budget, to be honest.
Infinity makes a really good door speaker.
I'm partial to Fosqate subs and amps, but there are plenty others that are the same quality. JL Audio is another really good brand. However, you'll hear more personal preference when it comes to subs/amps than you will actual quality reviews.
Your best bet may be to visit a stereo shop. Not Best Buy or WalMart, but an actual audio installer/retailer. They're gonna be able to pinpoint exactly what you want and make expert recommendations.

I'd like to spend as much as is reasonable. I've seen some pairs for $50 and some for $170 but I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the two price brackets. If they're worth it I'll pay more. I'm hesitant to go to any shops around here for advice on anything, everyone is trying to grab your money as quickly as possible.

Here. It's model # TSD6802R 6x8 2-way 260 watt

Ignore the price and all that cause it's more than likely changed from what it was back when I bought them
