Default F150 XLT Audio upgrade.

Well, as anyone knows the audio in the XLT is pretty dismal. I've dabbled in this hobby for many years, was an installer through college. Always worked on my own cars. It isn't many pictures, most pictures are of the box as it, the door and pillar speaker swap, and sound deadening the doors was the things I did completely on my own. I had a buddies shop run power, and pull all the speaker output's to the DQ-61, before I installed it. I did do any of the door pictures, as it wasn't too exciting, and I was angry when things weren't going as planned. Lol.

Alpine PDX-V9
Audio Control DQ-61
Morel Maximo 602 in front door/pillar
Morel Tempo Ultra 502 Integra in rear door
JL Audio 10" TW3 shallow mount.

great job on the box. I'm a huge fan of that sub, I'm sure it will sound amazing!

Thanks. The box was a project, I am not a skilled carpenter but I've done enough to work to make it seems proficient. Lol. Just to the left are the 3 pieces you can't see that I ruined before getting it to measure out right. I probably have about 20 hours in the box. The carpet on the inside was a giant PITA. But turned out good.

It does sound pretty good. The build in my 2015 before it was wrecked, was similar, but I used a Pioneer shallow mount. I forgot how much better JL sounds. The sub is clean and DEEP. Also, I've used Morel's for years in many applications including home theater, and the Maximo's are my least favorite product I've ever used from them. The mids sound really drowned out, if that makes sense. But, the factory head unit REALLY holds back what the Alpine and DQ-61 can do together, I think I will save my reservations about the Morel's until I replace it.

Thanks for the kind words. =)

So is the box sealed and down-firing? Where is it mounted?

that box is beautiful! Now can you build one that fits behind the seat? On second thought its too pretty to hide behind the seats.
