Hi guys! New to the forum and wanted to share my truck! After coming from a decently modified Wrangler, my goal was to keep this new F150 pretty stock. But you know how it goes, you change one thing, that leads to the next, and so on...
I wanted to level the truck and added a set of the Bilstein 6112 up front: I've run the 5100 before and liked them, but the option to get a bit bigger shock was nice. I don't currently plan on wheeling hard enough to require full remote 2.5+ coils (as much as I wanted em though!), and was torn on going with Icon for their 2.5 non-reservoir, but ended up choosing the 6112 because of my experience with the 5100 and streetability. Overall they've been great: they're noticeably better at big hits than the 5100, but don't feel like overkill for what I do. I also added some RCI Engine and Transmission skids in 1/4" aluminum. I got a deal on a Sport package truck with the max tow, (so I still got the locking rear dif and 3.73 gears), so I decided to save the money upfront and put on aftermarket skids instead of paying more for the FX4 version. The RCI plates are awesome: well designed, easy to install, and I lucked out with a metal oil pan EB motor, so throwing a Fumoto valve on has made oil changes super easy.
I'm sure I'll be changing a few more things and look forward to using this forum for info and inspiration!
