Building a Built Truck - Murdered 2006 Lariat on 35's
Finally starting a build thread.
Bought my Fully Loaded 2006 Lariat in January of 2015 after writing off my 2003 Supercrew FX4.
Bought it with 232,000 kms (144,000 miles) and it already had some mods done on it.
This is how she sat when I first looked picked her up:
Mods included:
-35/12/50/20 AMP M/T's (Bald)
-20x9 Mayhem Hammer rims with -12 offset
-Colourmatched headlights (Really rough)
-Aluminum Billet grill (Full of rock chips)
-8000k HID's in headlights and fogs (Melted fog light lenses)
-Tinted tail lights, windows and brow (Brow is below legal limit)
-Wood grain inside covered with black Carbon Fiber vinyl
-Kendwood double din deck and back-up camera
-Bully Dog GT Gauge Tuner
-12" P3 in a 4 cubic foot non-ported box and a 4 channel amp from the 80's
-Bak-Flip Tri-Fold Tonneau cover
-Blue LED's under dash and front seats on a switch
-Full Magnaflow exhaust system with cat and resonator delete (Needed new muffler)
-OEM Tow Mirrors
-LED lights for all interior lights and license plate lights
-3" Level up front and 2.5" in the rear with 7700 Leafsprings (Front level tore CV axles boots open)
First thing I did was purchase a 20" Light bar for the front bumper and removed the broken bug deflector:
The next thing I did was repaint the rusted green tow hooks:
Decided to do something about the rough headlights next. They were pretty badly scratched and had some sort of build up on the outside that would not come off.
So I had somebody I knew open up a stock set of headlights and paint match them again. He also installed what he called "City Lights" which were just blue lights in the housings when my parking lights were on:
Next I decided to make my truck stand out a bit. So I sold the Tri-Fold tonneau cover and chrome bed rails and picked up this chase rack.
It's made by Go Rhino and I've loved it since day one. It's recently become rather popular in my area. I like to think I'm a trend setter due to that haha:

The chase rack looked a tad naked without anything on top of it so I purchased a 40" light bar. I would have gone bigger but I would have had to make some modifications to the rack to allow the brackets to sit on it:
Now that my truck was brighter than my future I decided to fix the exhaust system. It was a tad raspy and I felt the tips were a tad small. So I got a new Magnaflow muffler and 4" tips installed.
Exhaust shop did a horrible job on the install for the tips and I've never been happy with them, they took off 3" tips that were 18" long and threw on some half that size.
The black tips do look pretty good though:
It sounded glorious with the new muffler and tips.
I'm not overly proud of this next mod but it turned out nice. I decided to plasti-dip both bumper, the chrome rocker panels and my grill.
A friend of mine suggested doing the grill surround in red just for some extra colour.
I liked it for about a week:
Approximately 2 weeks later I finally decided to do something about the red grill surround. I felt it just didn't suit the truck.
So it went black:
This next mod has probably been my most expensive mod but definitely my favourite.
Retro-fitted headlights with colourmorph halos and demon eyes.
They started off plain and boring:
But they soon turned into something amazing once stuff started to arrive:
Once they were finally finished, I was real happy with how they turned out:

These lights were the third set my friend had ever built and they turned out amazing:
The build was obviously going to well at this point so my truck decided that reverse was no longer needed.
I was not pleased:
$2000 later I got it fixed. Kinda affected the build fund though.
Managed to pick up a next to new set of fog lights for $20. Quickly got them in the truck and somehow managed to sell the melted ones for $40:
Hauled a quad and RZR out for a day of off-roading and got sand into the torn boots on my CV axles and ruined the inner axles.
I'd just like to say that my truck didn't squat at all from the quad, trailer, RZR and all the equipment and spare parts we had in the box:
I'm not overly proud of this either but it went better than I expected.
Removing the chrome rocker panels. This was a pain in the *** to do:
It went flawlessly until the last half of the last panel when this happened..
Pretty sure the entire neighbourhood heard me when this happened, I was not happy:
Proud to say that I did not cry on the outside.

The previous owner had pulled a small Fifth wheel with the truck so it still had the rails in.
A friend gave me a plastic box liner out of his 2013 so I decided to remove the rails so that it'd fit properly.
At the same time, another friend traded in his 2008 Harley Davidson F150 so he traded me tail lights.
So I got myself a set of Recon tail lights in exchange for smoked stock tail lights:
I had to drill 2 small holes in the box liner so that 2 ***** wouldn't push it out. All of the holes for tie downs line sup almost perfectly:
One of my more recent mods was a painted emblem off a 2014:
Now the latest and saddest "mod" at this time has been winter mode. Dropped the truck down to 265/70/17 Duratracs. I painted the rims black because I didn't want stock coloured rims on the truck:
My truck now seems to sit lower than a stock truck. It does not feel right but it's only for winter:
So that's pretty much all I've done to my truck. I've had it less than a hear but I'm pretty happy with how far it's come.
I embrace the pavement princess name so I keep it as clean as possible as much as I can:
She's now sitting at 251,000 kms (156,000 miles) and still going strong!
The build is definitely not done. More to come as I add to it!
Few mods that were done but don't have pictures for:
-35/12.50/20 Gladiator M/T's
-Hertz speakers all around
-To spec Ultimate ported box
-1000 watt Alpine amp
-Automatic locking tailgate using stock lock (Locks and unlocks with my doors)
Repairs to date:
-Rebuilt transmission, torque converter + Transfer case service
-Brakes all around
-Small leak in rear diff
-Brake line to front driver side brake
Repairs currently needed:
-CV axles
-U-Joints (One was binding when they replaced the transmission so the driveshaft was never put back in)
-Cracked passenger side manifold

And nothing hits the ground close to the truck, but it literally lights up everything else around me for a very good distance.
I could angle it down a bit more but then I'd probably end up blinding myself through the mirrors haha
