Thanks for the great pics Bauer. My first post here as I just bought a STX a few days ago, and alas I'm already looking to tinker.

The Plastidip, I did a quick Google search, is it really the stuff Home Depot sells? Also, how did you remove the F150 badges from the truck? My Explorer, in high school mind you, had plastic tabs that prohibited this.

Any tips I should know about painting?

Thanks and love the look of your rig.

Nice work. I'm not a fan of bull bars generally but I like yours. Got a link for it?

Congrats on the rig! I got the itch a few days after picking mine up as well.

Plastidip is, in fact, the stuff sold in Home Depot/Lowes. Only tip I have for use is don't be afraid to do light coats and do 4 or 5 of them, no need to get it done in 1 coat bc it'll look crappy when you're done.

As far as badges, I pulled the Flex Fuel badge with a legit of fishing wire to remove the badge from the adhesive first, then went after the foam adhesive with a hair dryer, Goo Gone, and a soft plastic scraper. Haven't messed with any of the other badges though.

Good luck, and enjoy the truck!

Thanks. Fit well with the "minimalist" look I'm going for...except for the front license plate, still need to figure out a cleaner solution for that.

eBay seller is "Grille4you"...it was a touch under $150 with free shipping to anywhere in CONUS. Shipping was quick and had a good experience with the seller.

Built a storage box underneath the back bench. Gives the rear storage a cleaner look and keeps everything from sliding out.

6 foot length of 1x8 and a 12' length of cheap indoor/outdoor carpet. Screws into the existing holes on the seat mounts under the bench.

I am cornfused....

You painted what on the tails? Was it the inside lip? I can't tell cause I have not ordered my Harley tails yet.

Your truck is getting all sorts of love. I used to be that way until a baby and home got my free time. Such is life.

Definitely have me thinking about that storage box though,.......

Yeea the inside lip where the clear lens meets the black housing. It is textured clear plastic so it has more of a white appearance than clear...the black paint darkens that so there is no white/clear "border" around the entire lens.
