Andrewdod's 2013 stx 5.0 slow build
So I picked this up about a month ago.
Bought it from Tasca and they were absolutely great. They even painted the entire side of the truck for me as part of the deal.
So I had it for a whole three days and decided I needed somewhere to put my junk... It just wasn't working scattered across the back seat. So I bought a toolbox.
Then I finally cleaned it up, and took it to take some pictures.

On friday my brother decided to whack my tail light with his mirror... Luckily he just hit the tail light and not the fresh paint....
So a new set of tail lights got ordered.
I ordered them on Friday from 1AAuto, and I got them today. Not bad considering I only chose the free ground shipping with the holiday weekend and all.
They took me about ten minutes to install, and they came with all new bulbs and sockets.
A little comparison of the two different housings.
The final look... nothing special but gave the back end of the truck a serious attitude adjustment.
This will be a slow build... Pretty much done as funds allow. I'm gonna either smoke or purchase an anzo 3rd brake light next, harley head lights, flirting with the idea of removing the running boards, going to do some window vent visors... might paint them to match not sure yet. Definitely want to do bigger wheels and tires and a lift or level...
This is kind of the look I want. but not exactly.

The raptor LED 3rd brake light is PnP FYI. Here is my '13 STX with all raptor lights out back and some recon license plate lights.
And all raptor front w/ a light bar

Got something done! Finally got a minute to paint my rear axle. The thing looked terrible before. Literally the only spot on the truck that looked like that with the exception of the driveshaft which will get done at a later date.
Now, I know the proper way to do this is to pull all the lines and rip the axle out of the truck, but I honestly didn't have time for that, and I'm pissed I gotta peel the tape off tomorrow and put the tires back on. I'm on day 2 of this haha.
Here's how it looked before, in my opinion this is unacceptable for a three year old vehicle. Idk whether the PO had a boat, or the factory coating is just poor.
Got the lines all taped up, I really just did that because i used a wire brush tip on the drill, and I wanted to be able to hear it before I hit the line.
missed a few spots.... projects like this make me wish I still had access to a lift.
Shot the primer Used Rustoleum rusty metal primer, although i used the brush tip, and a rust stripping agent I felt like this was better safe than sorry.
Shot the actual paint. Used matte black Rustoleum
Ill post more pics once its finally all dry and I peel the tape off.
