2018 XLT Dash Display Issues
I have a 2018 XLT with 79000 miles and have used it for the last 18 months to pull a 21' travel trailer with rearview camera (wireless signal with display on dash powered through 12 volt plug) throughout South Carolina. Several weeks ago I noticed while pulling the TT to our destination the display panel suddenly went bright blue (speed indicator, water temp, oil temp, battey charger, etc., even the radio display). All went from black to blue with my camera display loosing its signal with that display going blank. Now a huge safety issue as I cannot see any vehicles behind me. Since I've had this truck (bought used with 33,000 miles on it), I've had the sensor on the dash covered to allow me to have my lights on at all times when driving, even when NOT pulling the TT.
With my display switching between black and blue even with the TT not in tow, I'm concerned it may be an electrical issue. My local FORD Dealership has been no help, they're saying with me covering the dash sensor, the covering has become worn and the display is changing due to it sensing night time,,,, "WHAT?" I have removed the pad I covered the sensor with, turned my lights off, and am still experiencing the switching between black and blue displays.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Your comments are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
