I understand the time thing, I was there once myself. I know it's gonna look killer, you don't do junk.

The painted parts look great as expected. Mike's work is top notch. I may have a new project for him soon.

I have a lot of ideas, what is nice is MBullock can help me make them a reality. I went back and looked for fun, we had to exchange over 100 messages from the time we started this until the end. He was always so easy to work for, laugh with, and exchange ideas. Can't wait to see what you have cooking!

Mike does great work, won't even consider anyone else, unless the item is too big for reasonable shipping.

The parts came out great. Can't wait to see them on the truck. The window trim and the "B" pillars are going to look really good together.

Well, this new Ford has been a long time coming so I'll finally get the build going...
Quick back story… Had a 2011 Ram sport, crew, 5.7, short bed. You can say all you want about the Ram, but mine was a good truck to me and the family. Biggest issue was the terrible gas mileage (~12 MPG) so a few years back I picked up a small, 2 door daily driver, kept the miles off the Ram, and saved a few bucks every month just driving that little thing.
Fast forward to 2017 and the plan was to pick up a used Fusion Energi for my DD and started shopping. Wife fell in love with the Edge, so DD shopping for the Fusion was put on hold. After we got the wife’s Edge, and the shopping continued, the Fusion plans were changed to F150 plans. Had a new 2017 all lined up in February but the deal fell through when the other dealer backed out on a trade.
After that deal fell through, couldn’t find anything that I was willing to spend that kind of money on so decided to put in a custom order. Ordered in March, and almost 2 month exactly, here is “my perfect truck".
From my dealer, after two months of waiting, I was out of town when the truck was delivered so he sent me a picture.

So I finally found some time to pull the pillars off and get to my painted parts.Have been waiting for a nice sunny day to get a good picture, but yesterday was as close as I'm gonna get. Very cloudy, and then today the snow came so this is how she sits.....
I have to say, this was a bigger pain than I thought it was going to be. I found the instructions on how to pull the pillars, and while straightforward, getting everything back together was a bit challenging. Maybe others would have found this easier, and if this had some kind of computer chip or needed to be soldered, it would have been easier on me, but I have to admit it was challenging getting all the pieces back together and working.
The biggest challenge for me was really the keyless pad. Getting the cable out of the truck took me forever, it just wanted to get stuck inside the door. Then getting it back in place, and out of the way of the window took even longer. I probably had the interior door trim off three times trying to adjust the cable so the window could go up and down without interference. Frustrating at times to try and lower the window and then it gets stuck haha! But in the end, it is all back together and I have to say I really like it. I'm not 100% sold I love it so much I would do it all over again, after all, it did look good before. But I like the unique look to it, and really love the way MBullock finished these parts

That looks fantastic, I really like it!! Did you have to get a whole new keypad, or does the cover just snap in place? I don't remember, is that beltline molding the soft black painted, or did Mike paint chrome ones?

But in the end, the only real way to separate the key pad from the pillar, so I could put in my painted trim piece and a keypad, was to take if off the truck. Its pretty finicky to separate and I didn't want to scratch anything. Maybe if it popped right out and then back in, I could have finagled it through the trim and left it connected inside the door, but just couldn't see a way.
The window molding pieces are like the tinted black vent visor like material, not the chrome ones, though I imagine MBullock could have done either one real nice. I got the idea to use the black ones from KillingTime when he did those on his truck. He painted his black to match his truck, and add to that where you modified your pillars with wrap, I went on this painted parts path and glad I did.
In hindsight, had I looked into this more, I may have just pulled the existing black window trim pieces and had those painted. Not sure that would be an option, but that window molding is one piece, and the right painter could probably make those real nice without having to cover them.
