They do and I did. The dealer badge was made of straight metal, which I found out as it bounced off my foot. The new grille looks great and pics after baby's first detail will show it all off tomorrow.

I thought about painting the calipers, but I'm not a huge fan of how stock single sided pistons look painted. If I go different color calipers, it'll probably be because I went retarded or got a big sale and bought whatever color wilwoods I feel more into at that moment. Though, I'm kinda stuck atm with the rears because I have an electric parking brake.

But yeah, all in all a productive day on the truck. Front doors have 8" midbass drivers in them, the access holes are covered and I swapped badges and grille.

Tomorrow, full detail and clay bar unless I just decide to laze about.

Well, that was frustrating and embarrassing. Especially since audio and 12v electronics is kinda my thing.

10p rolls around, I'm bored, nothing on tv "Let's just hook up that parrot harness and run signal wire through the center console. Get ahead of the game a bit."

A couple 7mm and a few panel clips in and out later, that's hooked up and wire fished under console storage and everything is snapped back together. Radio lights up, cup holders light up and it all fits right.

Oh and I found out I have a cubby cover in woodgrain because lariat. It was open when I found and bought truck so I just assumed all the pics I'd seen online were an option the truck didn't come with.

Anyways, go to start truck and "No key detected". Fob locks/unlocks doors and lowers tailgate, but no remote start, no push button. Pull radio back out thinking it was parrot harness and nope. Hm. Step away a second to get a drink, find where the fob goes if battery low and panic. Come back, put key in various spots in center console but same message. Pull cup holders and voila. MyKey RX/TX not plugged in like a jackass put the console back together.

And now, at 2:20, 20 min after I figured it out and finished everything up, a 30 min headstart is done.

I can dig the audio...just wondering where you’re gonna cram the AS amps? I ran a pair of AS200.4’s in my last audio build and they were damn near as wide as the truck side by side. lol
I also ran Utopia Be’s...3 way up front with a single Illusion C12XL, 6to8v8 and a Clarion DRZ9255.
Going with smaller footprint amps this time. Mosconi One series instead of AS. Illusion C8’s with a C3 set on the dash and a single C12....again with the 6to8v8 and RCD though.

Along the backwall. The AS100.2 and 100.4 are shorter combined (just barely) than the 300.2. Worst case, I'll put one of the three where the little storage cubby under the seat is now. If things go to plan, I should be mocking that up this weekend.

I had Utopia in my kia before I bought the truck and I have a couple industry friends that are really into HAT, so I figured that this would be a good time to give them a try. I've seen good things with Illusion, but haven't heard much of their stuff.

How's the tuning software for the 6to8? I'm debating swapping the twk out with something that has a better remote like the 6to8 or arc ps8.

I like the interface. Many don’t...people seem to like everything on one screen and there’s multiple screens to shift through. It’s very capable though. I was undefeated in MECA street in 2014 using one....sold the truck before finals so I never sealed the deal. lol
To be fair mine was tuned by Jim Becker...who won Master class that year at finals and has tuned many World Champion cars including the Street champ this year, Paul Adams.
Illusion was brought back by ORCA...who imports Focal and Mosconi to the US. Their beryllium tweeters are on par with the Utopia Be tweeters IMHO. The Carbon XL subs are the best I’ve ever used, period. They have the low end on a W7 with the finesse of a Morel Ultimo....both of which I’ve used many times. I’m very impressed with their stuff.

So I'm debating suspension and brake upgrades now that audio build is close to finished.

Bilstein or fox? Can I even get fox for the front of a 2wd? I see a 09 - 14 kit, but nothing for 15+.

As to brakes, I'm pretty sure I'm just getting yellowstuff ebc pads. I don't see the need for slotted or drilled rotors for a street truck that may tow less than 10 times ever. Nor pretty wilwood calipers. The latter especially since I have an electronic parking brake and there's no aftermarket replacement caliper for it anyways.

Oh and now that raptor retrofit is doing it, I'm thinking I'm going to get some LED projector headlights. I thought about just doing the work myself and saving a significant amount of money, but I dunno if I trust myself to do it.

Amp rack is built, but not mounted and wired up because I didn't get the right length screws.

Tomorrow, that happens plus ported box for the twin 10" clarus subs. Late this week or sometime next, I'll be doing the mid/tweet pillar build and it'll end up being flocked in black suede. So with luck, this time next week, I'll be tuning the new system up.

Still trying to decide my suspension path. I really want to go fox all around, but if there's no rwd front replacements, I'll probably do bilstein fronts and fox rears.

Brakes are either staying stock until it's time to replace pads in 50 - 60k miles OR I'm dropping mad money on wilwood replacements all around.

It's funny, I bought this truck and sold my 91 and my kia daily driver because I didn't want to have a car payment and a project that was about to cost me what I turned around and used for my down payment. A wheel swap, badge swap, grille swap and stereo build later and I feel like I want to do more already.

Fox fronts are a no-go. They are "in planning" with no time frame for release. So either bilstein all around or fox rears.

Box and pillars are both done, still haven't bought the longer screws I need for the amp rack though. Going to talk to a couple industry friends tomorrow about DSP to use instead of twk and line-driver. May end up getting the 6to8 so it will brand match my amps.

So yeah, getting close to being done with build already.

Why won’t the 4wd coils work?
