I’m not good at waiting.

I did some calling and found a place that could rebuild the torque converter. Of course, Ford doesn’t want to go that route.

I’ve also been trying to source a used one but no one will separate it from the transmission.

Supposedly, they will start to ship to suppliers “this week” but still no ETA.

I miss driving my truck 🙁

Torque converter came in yesterday, drove it into Ford and dropped it off tonight. They have it scheduled to start on Monday and hopefully get it back Wednesday.

I’m very appreciative of my parents loaning us a vehicle but we are ready to drive our own vehicles again.

Thats great!

I’m lucky enough to have good folks around that help us through hard times still. I’ll pay it forward one day.

Default Edge Saga: the Conclusion

Picked it up tonight, all done. The invoice was for about $300 more than we paid for the extended warranty. I’ll definitely buy the warranty going forward when buying a vehicle.

They pointed out during their testing driving that they thought it had a possible wheel bearing issue. Took it back Friday (hoping to avoid paying the deductible again on the warranty since hubs are covered) and Ford confirmed BOTH front wheel bearings need replaced.

We thought they were fixing Friday, not just diagnosing, so that was frustrating.

Yesterday, I returned the Explorer to my mother and helped Dad work on his planter. It was a perfect weather day to be outside. We changed our closing discs, fixed a wiring issue, mounted PTO pump and swapped some hydraulic hoses.
