Default 2012 Paint Problem

To all you guys that have had paint bubbles on your 2012 F-150 and have had them fixed, you should consider yourselves lucky. I bought a new one for $55,000 that has been back to the bodyshop 3 times. I have never had a truck look so horrible after 4 months of ownership. My truck was custom ordered from the factory. Now I have bare metal on two of my doors, the caulk lines on the roof are tacky and a different color, and paint bubbling in numerous spots. The dealer won't help me and Ford won't help either. I strongly suggest you stay away from these trucks and more importantly, STAY AWAY FROM FORD!!

Although i agree the paint issue is horrible (see my pics of $50,000 truck)
staying away from Ford isn't the solution, the dealer making it right and FOMOCO fixing a production problem.

Mine better be fixed under warranty or I might need some room on your soap box.

Bottoms of ALL of the doors look like this, not really happy. Took these at dusk, but a camera is only as good as the light it has to work with (rebel T3)

I always find these statements funny. "I bought a $55k truck it shouldn't look like this." I agree to an extent. But i have seen BMWs, Mercedes, and Land Rovers with the exact same issues. And some of those vehicles are way north of $55k. Hell I've seen a $100k+ Nissan GT-R with no paint on the bottoms of the doors either.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't complain if it bothers you, you should actually. I just don't believe you should stay away from a certain manufacturer because of paint, or the fact that that particular dealer has a sub par body shop.

But, if we should stay away from Ford...to whom shall we go?

Toyota?

2013 $45k unsold Toyota Sienna. Front bumper is a different color.

2010 Toyota Prius. Rear bumper is the wrong color. (we painted the nose)

Or my favorite... A 2012 $42k maxima with all these issues

All post it notes are dust nibs

Runs in the door jambs

No paint at all in the trunk

Well there was a little bit

And the infamous, no paint at the bottoms of the doors (this is the same door with the runs)

Ford isn't the only violater here. I find Nissan s to be the worst. Next time you see a "charcoal" colored Nissan Rogue, look at all the panels...there won't be 2 panels that are the same.

In response to half ton, yours is worse than mine. Check your tail gate and the bottom of the bed below the tailgate also. I also recommend that you take it to a dealer that sends their work out to a body shop and not a dealer that does body work onsight. Thats how mine got all screwed up.

Yeah you're right. The dealer you took it to, screwed it up...so that must mean they are all the same right?
