I hate to revive a very old thread but I'm curious to know if this will work with the OBD-I system on a 95 F150 5.0 with a single O2 sensor located before the first cat where the exhaust pipe from the two exhaust manifolds come together. Many of the simulators I've seen seem to be designed for the two-O2 sensor setups on the 96 and newer vehicles with the OBD-II system.

Why would you try and "fool" the sensor that is responsible for your air/fuel mixture.

This is only for the post-cat sensors on OBDII systems.

Just one question.. how was your gas mileage? My husband has a 99 f150 4.6 manual and I have an 04 4.6 auto.. technically he should get better gas mileage being a manual, but due to a custom exhaust someone had installed and removed the cats, sure sounds nice, has good get up and go but his gas mileage sucks *** and mine blows the doors off his milage.. I'm trying to keep my cats and am replacing my 02 sensors which are probably the original ones, came across this researching easier removal because they are so rusted on that it's definitely not going to be easy! I told my husband after he told me about his exhaust that I thought that was why his gas mileage sucks ***!

if its the o2 before the cats, changing them out might bump up mpg. Might is the key word b/c if they are working fine, regardless of what they look like, changing them out will make no difference. If they aren't working properly, then changing them out will improve mpg.
Purpose of the 2 after the cats is to make sure the cats are working properly and burning off any unburned fuel and other gases that would normally go into atmosphere.

Those o2 sensors are just 1 part of a whole system, egr valve, map and knock sensors, spark plugs ( properly gapped) all together to improve mpg.

First - you could probably get a reasonable idea of o2 sensor performance simply logging them. Could always log both trucks for comparison sake

also you need to verify/ compare rolling diameter of the wheel/tire combos, OD gear and differential to begin making comparisons of mpg. Just because the manual may be slightly more efficient it won’t overcome improper shift points either… just throwing out things to consider
