How to Clean your throttle body + MAF
#101
Thank you
Thank you for the write up. I preformed this maintenance last night following each step. I can't believe something so simple fixed my problem. My 2005 Super Crew kept dropping RPMs almost to the point of stalling while backing up my driveway that barely has an incline. Cleaning the throttle body and MAF fixed it right on up. Runs so smooth now. Thanks again

Idle issues
so after driving at highway speeds my 08 5.4 f150 sometimes gets an extremely rough Idle when I stop at a light or stop sign...and if I give it gas it goes away and smooths back out...HELP!!

I have a 2010 with 5.4. Is it much different than the 04-08 pics posted? I've noticed the mileage has suffered over the years and I'm about 20 miles from 100k. It's about time to consider doing this.

cleaned throttle body while on truck...with the recent cold snap and this warm up I couldn't take the time for removal...found throttle body not too bad but for about a 1 inch ring around where the blade is...this throttle body was possibly cleaned when last owner had the plugs changed 1 year/10K miles ago...truck seems to run a bit better and idle a touch higher...
I did notice after the road test while stopped in line at the car wash that the truck shuddered and shook, idle speed dropped but putting in neutral and giving a touch of gas seemed to smooth it out but it did this twice while in line...it did not re-exhibit itself after the wash...
