Puddle Light LED Retrofit - PICTURES

Thanks to the op for the how to! Here are the parts I used for my 2012 FX4:
LED's From Amazon for $24.99 with free shipping.
Puddle lamps from Tasca Part number 3F1Z-13B375-AA for $21.69 each not including shipping.
Top left is stock, top right is LED, bottom left is stock, bottom right is LED. These crappy pictures do not do the lights justice, Huge improvement and well worth the cost. You can get different LED's for cheaper, I wanted to try these ones out! I also wanted factory replacements in case they did not turn out or I messed up.
*edit* I also removed the reflectors in the housings to help seat the lens better when sealing them back up, this allowed the bulb to seat deeper in the housing.

Can you describe what bulb you used and how much are you looking for them? I'm looking for something like 051F has done, that "flood" pattern looks great. Any pics would be very helpful in the decision as well please.

I don't have any plans to make anymore, not saying I wouldn't, just not going to do so on the hope someone would want them and would be willing to pay for them. I have about $80 in the items I bought including shipping, not to many people want to spend that for these. Also I would like to test out reliability of mine to make sure they are not going to have issues. The bulbs only have 2 reviews one good and says "they are bright but not bright bright". I think they are very bright, night and day difference between stock! The other which is bad says "have four and one failing already after one week."
If I would have just used my existing lamps it would have just been the cost of the bulbs which had free shipping. But I figured if the retro did not work out I could just drop the originals back in.

Maybe a dumb question, but did you guys use your original puddle lamps? If so, how did you get them out? I guess either way, you'd have to get them out....lol....any tricks or tips?
Great write up! Can't wait to try it out!

PM sent, it would be expensive and I broke it down for you in the pm. This mod really is not difficult and almost anyone could do this for cheap if they chose to use cheaper bulbs and use their own puddle lamps. I really do not want to make anymore, I will, but it will cost you for me to it with these bulbs and new oem puddle lamps.

Just did mine with Cree LED's
Anyone looking to do this, it is super easy, only took me about 10 minutes. Cut the seam of the lens and housing with a dremel, or even a hack saw would do. Pull out the bulb and reflector, put new bulb in, put back in truck to aim the bulb, pull it back out and epoxy the lens back on.
