In the process of doing mine, I'm just doing 2 coats as I don't want to get rear ended or ticketed.

How long did you guys wait before applying clear? I have heat on them right now they seem dry to the touch within 15min.

I'm thinking I'll wait 1 hr and do a few coats of clear.

Edit: Got it all done, looked good. But I had alot of second thoughts of getting rear ended and being screwed royally by insurance (especially if someone got really hurt). The visibility was still good but if anything happens your most likely on the hook.

 

You did mean you sanded the outside of the taillight right and do you think it works the same on the f150's wit the long tai lights that go down the side of the truck. Thanks

Did anyone have problems with the clearcoat having a "fogged" look to it? Any suggestions on how to remedy it or is my only fix going to be to try and wet sand it down and try it again?

 

Mine appeared foggy and dried and cleared up abit and i coated it lighty again and it all dissappeared. Dont know if that will help you but thats what i did.

 

What clear coat should I use to get more of a glossy look? I have duplicolor glossy clear coat and it still looks pretty dull

 

That duplicolor clear coat isnt that good i had to use the whole can on both of my taillghts and still had to wax them to get a gloss look

 

I used the Rustoleum tail light tint and mine turned out just the way I wanted, but I'm getting new tails soon so I'll have to redo them again.

 

Bout to do mine this week. I will post Before/Afters of the Headlights, Taillights and Thirda brake light when they are done.
