Default WOW - FR 3" Exhaust knocked almost 1/2 second off my 1/8 mi time!

Best 1/8 mile run before FR exhaust:

Reaction - +.2313
60 ft - 2.2379
330 ft - 6.2653
1/8 ET - 9.6163
1/8 MPH - 72.95

Best 1/8 mile run after FR exhaust (only change)

Reaction - +.6770
60 ft - 2.0270
330 ft - 5.9506
1/8 ET - 9.2836
1/8 MPH - 73.07

Interesting that the MPH didn't change much, but took off much faster (quicker 60 ft and 1/8 ET times) I attribute to the increase in low end torque from the FR exhaust. I'm couldn't be more happy with such a simple change!

Were weather conditons close to the same? I've ran .25 faster just because of good cold air.

A lot of the improved time was due to your improved 60 ft.

The exhaust may have had something to do with it but knocking more than 2 tenths off your 60' time will do more to help your ET

edit- someone beat me to it

Let me throw this out there. My current setup is stock cats/dp with full race exhaust. My mph was almost the same as when I was running high flow cats/dp with full race exhaust. I have the slips to prove it if anyone wants to see them. My opinion is the stock cats/dp with the full race exhaust is a good set up.

congrats on the improvement but again too many variables to know whats truly responsible here.

the 60', DA and the exhaust all play into it. I havent had my truck at the track but just playing on the streets and foot braking it seems to me these trucks have plenty of power to cut a 2.0 60' stock. My Lightning would cut easy 2.0 60s on street tires and well into the 1.80s on crappy 555Rs so Ive got a pretty good idea of what those kinda launches feel like

MPH is the true measure of HP increase. Judging by the numbers, you have none.

This is hilarious. Trap speed is the same and 60' is better. Looks like you learned to launch better. No gains from the pipe.

It was actually about 5degF warmer on the second run. The dragstrip is Greer Dragway in Greer, SC. The first run on stock exhaust was on 4/18/13, the second run with new exhaust was on 5/16/13.

I would attribute the improved 60 ft time on the increase in torque at the low end with the new exhaust.

Good point, and matches almost exactly with the dyno results that FR has posted on their web site. Torque gets you moving, HP applies it faster.

Actually, I launched the same as before. ~2K RPM's in 4WD. Every run I did the first date on stock exhaust was in the 9.6 range. Every run I did on the second date was in the 9.2-9.4 range. Too much evidence to be coincidence in my opinion. I think the undisputed numbers are the back-to-back dyno results on the FR website. How could that NOT equate to better 60 ft times assuming you have 4x4 available to take advantage of the increase in torque?
