I've been getting 17.2 average.

I feel like since i got 4x4, I should have gone with the 3.5 to handle the extra weight. 3.7 is a great motor, but if its all about MPG, go 4x2.

3.7, when mine was new it average 13 - 14 mpgs. It began to improve with more mileage, and break in. With 17,000 on the odo it now averages 17 - 17.5 mpg city, and 21 - 23 highway. City mpgs are of course affected by stop and go traffic, and jack rabbit starts. There are a lot of variables in highway mileage that will cause it to drop i.e. weather, terrain, traffic, and your right foot. These things are built like a brick with four tires, aerodynamics are for sports cars. Give it awhile it should get better, but always remember it's a truck.

i hear ya. i just gotta give her some time to get worked in, just like a virgin.

it's not s super big deal to me anyhow because my other commuting car is a '92 civic with a 1.5 under the hood. the thing is bullet proof, gets mid-30s for mpg and ... is completely GUTLESS

I use mine as my truck, and every day driver. We took it on a 5000 mile road trip to the Black Hills, and Yellowstone in August. It averaged 21.4 for the trip. I just ordered a 2013 Platinum, so it's goodbye to the little engine that could.

Default I like mine so far

I just bought a 2011 supercab XLT with the 3.7. I posted a question on the maintenance board, no replies......I was wondering about spark plug changes......any of you do that yet?

Chris, I would need to check the owner's manual again, but I think they are good for at leaat 100,000 miles. I don't do my maintanence anymore so trying to find the plugs will be left up to the mechanic.

OK Thanks Wanted33. I was wondering if anyone knew if these plugs were like the ones on some Mustangs where there is an extended smooth portion that goes into the head? I also wasnt sure if I left them in there for 100,000 miles wouls they be harder to get out?

Default Question Answered

I just took one plug out. They are just normal plugs in the 2011 3.7. It came out clean and easy, so I put a dab of anti seize on it and put it back in. Ill do all the rest at like 50K or so, I didnt have time to mess with that intake......hate that but oh well once every 50-100K miles isint that bad

The air filter is easy to change. The operating manual has instructions.
