it doesnt have to be a motorcraft filter, but honestly, they are a very good filter and they have the anti-drain back valve to help with cold starts. I would recomend them

I have magnaflow in my truck. It's not that loud. But it's not true dual exhaust. I am going to switch it over to flow master.

Back from the dead! 3 year old thread..... Thanks Hookstala, this one's a gooder
I now own a 2013, my 2011 was great, but mileage was climbing, and it had a lot of hard use, only real issue I recall was the rear LSD unit crapped out very noisily, and warped brakes. Ford took care of both 100% to my amazement!

How does new exhaust sound on the 3.7? I have wanted to put some new exhaust on for awhile but I'm afraid of it sounding too "V6-ish"

If anyone knows of any good videos or sound clips, please share!

Did you go with the 3.7L again? I only have 12000 km on mine. So far I'm happy with the power.

Yep - another 3.7! Great engine, better performance than the old 5.4 / 4 speed, and great mileage to boot. Too bad it's not available anymore, I guess a 2.7 is in my future...... Next year.

I have a 2011 xlt scab with the 3.7, bought it in 2014. My oldest son aquired my 93 Ranger scab with 4.0 3.55 posi. Both of my boys learned to drive in the ole Ranger. Best $4500. dollars i ever spent. Going from a 93 Ranger with 200k on it to 2011 F150 wow! The first night I drove it home, we took it out and ran the heck out of it. 0 to 60 in 8 seconds lol. I love this truck! it almost has a 100k on it now. Still runs great, rides great. I am optimistic that this truck will serve me well for year to come. Oh and it gets better gas mileage than the ranger does. lol

Hello,

Mine's a 2013 STX 3.7 Lt. It's got 34,000kms on it now and I bought her new. I'm running 33 inch Micky Thompson's ATZ P3s with a 2 inch leveling kit up front and a K&N 77Series CAI. The best fuel mileage I get is when I'm on country roads doing 80 kph; getting 11 L/100km. On the highway doing 120kph, averaging 14-16 L/100km. I find wind and hills a killer on fuel mileage. This sound right?

Anyway, anyone notice any power gains with a true duel exhaust? If so, any good recommendations?

That's a sharp looking truck. If I didn't need the space in mine for work, I would have a reg cab short box 4x4 on 34s.
