Who else here thinks that the same EB in the F150 would make a GREAT Mustang engine?
I don't know why the SHO engine is so down on torque compared to the EB in the F150 (only 365) .....probably due to torque steer raising its ugly head even at the lower figure.....BUT....in a rear drive vehicle that weighs HALF as much (Mustang!!) as the F150, I think that the same engine would just kick @$$....I don't know why Ford has not done that yet, do you?
That way the Mustang forum could be all "5.0 vs EB" the same way we are here too:thumbup:......435 ft/lbs of torque in the 'Stang....that could be a 12 second street machine off the showroom floor......thoughts? |
And imagine it tuned! I could see it happening when they redesign it

An ecoboost 5.0 would be awesome. A v6 in a Mustang is a disgrace, I don't care how much power it's making.

Knew that was coming^^

And.......how else are we going to get to Obama's fleet average of 54.5 mpg? Folks, the V8 as we know it is dead and doesn't know it yet....I don't care how Ford makes a 12 second 30 mpg car.....just give me one! |

It would undoubtedly be slower than the 5.0 because it's way down on HP, 55HP to be exact and in a light car lots of low end torque just spins the tires and doesn't get you down the track faster. Turbo lag would be more apparent in a lighter car. Then there's the sound. It's almost unanimous that the ecoboost has a terrible exhaust note, at least for a performance machine such as a sports car. The SHO has a better exhaust note(I believe it has different exhaust cams). Ford talked about putting an ecoboost in the mustang, the 2.0l I4 :glare: |
Put it in a rear engine car
