Default What's the best 5.0 canned econo tune?

I've got a '13 SCAB FX4 5.0, 3.55s, 20s. Can you guys give me some suggestions as to who currently sells the best canned tunes for my set up? I want a E10 87 econ-tune and a E10 87 towing tune. I'm not interested in high octane tunes or hot rodding, just mundane daily driver type stuff. Any help pointing me in the right direction will be helpful.

Interesting. I looked at both websites and SCT talks about their "well known, famous" tunes, but does not spell out what any of them do or economy increases. Diablo talks about their performance increases, but not a word about any economy increases. Does anyone have any other suggestions? How about all you guys in the comma club?

You need a custom tune bud. I have MPT tune my Lincoln LS and now I'm getting 2.5mpg average better than before. I believe they still have a $20 discount for forum members which would mean the custom tune is $55 if you already have a sct tuner.

If for towing, I'd go with 5 star. They are known for the best tow tunes. They use the sct x4. You will get a small bump in power but will benefit from better shift strategies on your engine. They give you several tunes to choose from for the price so for shiats and giggles I'd also recommend a performance tune as well.

The 5.0 SSI guys report great performance and fuel mileage. The best economy tunes tend to be custom performance tunes driven conservatively. I've never heard a good review on an economy tune.

SkiSmuggs you are exactly right. I am SSI tuned with a Gen2 87 tune and am currently running it for about 300 + miles on my newest revision which still makes plenty of power and is a great DD. Fuel mileage is great so far, I need to data log and get more run time. I have the same setup as the op except my truck is a FX2.

MPT are great to deal with. I got the SCT x4 from them with 3 custom tunes for $400. They've tweaked the shift points for me a few times to get it just right for me. Highly recommended.

Use the one Ford used when they tested the engine for EPA fuel economy.
