Question What Now?

Now that my Fuse #27 burnt in half (luckily, I was in my driveway) and the relocation kit is on order, why does fuse #27 get hot enough to melt the fuse socket in the first place? Is this indicative of a fuel pump going out in the near future? (2011 XLT 4x4 SCrew 5.0 225,000 + miles.)

Got the Fuse #27 kit today and performed the surgery. (I used an aftermarket kit). A couple of tips:
#1. You can remove the bottom half of the BJB to give you more space to work.
#2. I rerouted the appropriate heavy blue w/red tracer wire to give me a little more wire to handle.
#3. Take the time to solder the terminal end to the wire. It will prevent you from looking at the terminal and say to yourself "Gee, that terminal doesn't look as high as the Ford factory terminal. I'll just give it a little pull with my needle nose pliers." (Then you'll have to take the box out again and solder the wire to the terminal. Yes, I did it.)
#4. Use a hot soldering iron. I used a 250W Weller Soldering gun with the trigger held "on" by a separate piece of wire.
