Post Water Pump Issue. Replacement Procedure?

Hi All! Long time browser, 1st time poster.

I have a 2012 F150 XLT 4wd 5.0L (102k miles) that is making some noise (sounds like a bad bearing in the water pump) and is leaking coolant. This will be my 1st attempt to do any engine work on this truck. My previous vehicle was a 2001 F150 that I did multiple repairs on, so I am pretty comfortable doing repairs.

That being said, I'm looking for some procedures on getting this done.

Also, I am contemplating on:

1) Changing the belt while doing it,

2) should i change the thermostat?

any other tips or things to look out for??

Thanks for any info!

The belt should be good for another 100k, I wouldn't touch it. Same thing with the thermostat, but if you must I'd stick with a Ford or Motorcraft replacement. Check your belt idlers thoroughly though, replace any that are suspect. Make sure you refill the system with Motorcraft Specialty Orange coolant. I'd consider replacing the coolant wye pipe if you done so already, the o-ring on that piece is usually leaking somewhat by your millage.

Avoid AutoZone water pumps. Too many bad ones on my end, from leaking to assembled incorrectly. I have had good luck with NAPA or Ford OEM.
