Default Upgrades to Ecoboost

Hi sorry guys I'm new to this online business, I have a 2011 ford ecoboost and looking to do a couple mods. Has anybody done any kind of exhaust on one or cold air intake?

There have been tons of people who have done some exhaust, intake, tunes. In addition to that, some have replaced the stock CAC, Charge pipes, and TB's.

I guess what you are really asking is brands (I'll miss a few I'm sure).

EXHAUST: AFE, Solo Performance, Stainless Works, MBRP, Full-Race and Diamond Eyes. Out of these....without question Solo Performance, Stainless Works and Full_Race have the nicest quality materials used...but pricier. I love my Solo...

Intake: Afe stage 1 and stage 2 and Injen.

From a price stand point...a Tuner is the cats meow. I have Unleashed Tunes...and I like em'. SoCal has been lighting of the forums recently as awesome all out performers. In addition you have the SCT canned tunes, 5Star, and MPT (these are all tuned on the SCT programmers). Livernois uses there own tuner.

Basically a quick search on any of those terms should net you a wealth of info.

Listen to a lot of clips of exhausts...they all have pros and cons. Like I said for me my Solo Mach-X duals are music to my ears. People wanting quieter systems go with Full-Race...people wanting more sound go with MBRP, AFE, Diamond Eyes.

From what I have seen Solo and Full-Race have some nice down low gains. SW and others seem to have a more linear power throughout the band. This is just from the dynos I have seen.

Hey Kordell, welcome from a fellow forum rookie.

As a long time lurker the general consensus is that for exhaust, you'll want the Full Race or the Solo. There's a few die hards of other makes out there but those two are money for performance and audio.

CAI - well, that's a can of worms, but Geno, Geoff, and the Full Race guys swear up and down there's gains to be had beyond just swapping the filter element as they'd done on their test truck. Stay tuned for a Full Race intake in the near future. If you wanna pull the trigger now, lots of guys like the AFE Stage 2 for the looks and the additional turboliciousness it provides.

If you wanna go fast, tune it. Get an SCT canner if that's enough. I really enjoyed the 91 Octane that came with the device. If you reeeally wanna light 'em up, you talk to the Sheriff and get yourself the SoCal tunes. Shawn is the man and knows how to treat his customers.

Good luck and have fun!

If you're going to start any where I would contact Shawn with SoCal and order yourself an SCT, best bang for your buck and his tunes transform the truck more than any of the other tuners. Start with that and build from there, I would probably do downpipes before an exhaust if I was doing it over. This V6 sound isn't for everyone.

well i started with a livernois tuner, then did a afe stage 2 intake and a afe 4'' exhaust, the exhaust was the worst sounding exhaust i ever had on anything.

i pulled it off after 20hrs and returned it(summit is the best) i did keep the intake and its great, some trucks should not have exhausts and the eco is one.

+1!!! The EB should not sound like a early 90's 3.8 V6 Chevy Lumina with a holed muffler..................most of the aftermarket exhausts that I've heard for the EB sound just terrible!
I LOVE a good sounding V8 (I had a custom Bassani exhaust on my 97 Cobra that was the BEST sounding exhaust I've ever heard)............but for a V6 like the EB, go with a downpipe maybe, but think very hard about a louder exhaust..........

I'm telling you...search for my clips and other members' sound clips from Solo Performance...

It reminds me of the old 3000gt exhaust tone...which is a very very good thing. Does it sound like my previous Silverado SS with Dual flowmasters...NO!!! Does it sound like a rice rocket, NO!!!....

It sounds like a well mannered businessman that throws on a wife beater on the weekend and is covered in tattoos...it hints at you that there may be more than meets the eye.
