Adjust your air pressure as well to get those tires to hook up better.

Remember to get the slack out of the chain...watched a guy at a local truck pull a few years back ruin the rear end of a nice Super Duty because he punched it after hooking up instead of getting that slack out.

I do have a leveling kit and 33" Nitto Terra grappler tires so traction should be a bit better than stock. I also will have a 93 octane livernois tune in it, their 170 t-stat, and maybe an exhaust. (looking at ordering that shortly). Im also assuming i should launch it with the rear locker engauged because it is a FX4? Ill have my girlfriend try to take a video of it and post if for you guys!
I believe it unlocks above a certain speed. Remember to turn off the traction control and advance trac. Air down the tires as was said, and video would be nice

We would love to see a video of it and post it if you don't mind. When do you plan on doing the pull? I apologize if it was already stated. -Chris

Sorry had a busy weekend guys. Truck did great! Pulled 265 ft. Got third place over all. Im not disapointed tho.. One of the competition trucks was a quite built big block ford with a weight bar. The other was a healthy counding chevy that pulled 271 ft. I have alot of room for improvement where i could of easily pulled a good 10+ feet more.

What I did:
Livernois 93 tune (V10) with 170 degree thermostat
Injen intake
Second gear manually selected on the shifter (so it didnt try to shift to third)
Nitto Terrra grappler 31" tires
Engaged the rear locker
Bilstein aluminum shocks all around

Room for improvement:
I didnt boost launch whatsoever (I need to do this at least a little to give it more off the line kick and more wheel speed)

Deflate tires somewhat (I was told by an experienced puller that i should put the tire pressure around 30-35 lbs in the rears and 20-25 lbs in the fronts) I had really bad traction issues initially when boost came on

Put blocks or airbags between the frame and the leaf springs to limit rear suspension travel and keep more weight on front end to prevent slipping

Add weight... my truck weighed in at 6240 lbs and the weight limit was 6500 lbs. So 200 additional lbs in the cab sure wouldnt hurt.

And of course any other sort of power mod.

Overall I think the truck did great on its first pull (and mine) I'm very confident on it having much more room to move forward from here. 3rd of of 14 i think is pretty darn good anyways! For a half ton V6 competing with big block V8 3/4 and 1 ton trucks!

Here is the video! Tell me what you think!

Yeah I think if you raised the rear some so you equaled the weight to the front better would help. Bags would be the easiest.

And I agree on the tire pressures.

I wouldn't boost launch like the track so much, being dirt, but 1500-1800 would help a lot.
