Default Transmission Flush - when?

I was at the Ford dealer the other day to get oil changed at 35K miles (2012 ecoboost, 4x4) and the service guy said I better do a transmission flush or I risk voiding my expensive extended warranty. I got spooked enough on not wanting to void the warranty that I had the $200 service done.

Later I went back and read the owners manual which says that the tranny should be flushed at 150K miles!!!!! I was pissed. I called and asked for a refund of the cost due to being lied to about the required service interval. They agreed, but told me that my owners manual is wrong and the service is actually due at 60K for regular driving, but ALL driving in Colorado is considered Severe Duty due to our hills and elevation, so I need to get mine done at 30K.

What are you guys doing? tranny at 150K? 60K? 30K?
What do your owners manuals say the interval for this service is?

Thanks.

We get ours done at 100,000 miles. Along with new everything's pretty much. I am in North Carolina so I it might be over kill but I would rather spend 300$ instead of 2000$. We have do it on our 2006 xlt and 2006 fx4. Not on our 2010 lariat 4x4

Doesn't our transmissions use full synthetic? I'm pretty sure they do which is why the service interval is so high. I was planning on changing mine at 60k miles but if the manual is wrong and says regular service is 60k and severe is 30k then I'll probably change mine at 30k because I'll be slapping on a supercharger soon. Maybe I'll add a deep sump pan too.

No, my manual says to do it at 150k. I'm wondering what other people's manuals say. Is mine an old version that needs to be revised?

Our transmissions have a 150,000 mile fluid change interval. It's been that way in the manuals since at least 2011. Some other Ford cars have much shorter change cycles, but not the F150. Either your dealer is not honest or they are incompetent. Ask them to show you what supersedes the latest owner guides still in trucks built today.

You can look up all the owner guides (manuals) here to see for yourself: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...d=&kevin=rules

Even if it is actually 150K like we think I will probably change mine at 60k because of the extra abuse the supercharger will put on it.

I thought the transmissions were sealed for life? That was on a video I saw on the Ford website. Ford wouldn't just say that without it being true so they wouldn't have a ton of transmission claims.

But I agree it's better to be safe and get it done earlier.

I'm pretty sure the owners manual says to change the fluid at 30k?

I could be remembering wrong, but I think that's what it says.

I installed a bull bar on my 13 Monday and it looked like the tranny pan was a lot smaller than the one in my 09. It looked to have about 13/6 bolts compared to the 30+ in the 09, it also looked deep enough to cover an internal filter like the good old days.
