I've had no trouble with mine yet, (only 8900 miles, tho' 3000 of that includes roads in Baja, some very rough dirt/rocks), EXCEPT it's annoying when changing oil. Does the RCI replacement allow easier access to the oil drain plug? And how much heavier is the Aluminum version than OEM?

The aluminum transmission skid plate is 20lbs whereas the fiber cover is roughly 5. That said, they really can't be compared because the fiber cover offers ZERO protection value and it only covers half the length that the skid plate does.

Oil change can be made extremely simple with the plate. There is an "oil cover door" that gets removed with two allen bolts (You don't even have to reinstall it if you don't want to have to remove it in the future). Then purchase our fumoto valve that directs the oil flow downward rather than horizontally like the factory drain. The oil will drain right out the opening on the plate at the flip of a lever making oil change a DREAM.

Here is a terrible picture but you can see how it works if you look close...

Your website does not show this as an available option for the 2018 2.7l Ecoboost, only on the 3.5l Ecoboost. How would the oil change go with the transmission skid plate in this application?
